PlayStation 3 Console-the best Playstation yet

May 16, 2005, Sony Playstation 3 revealed to the public. Game over rejoiced at the best Playstation console ever. Despite the steep price tag on November 17th 2006, official United States release date, units sold out in less than 24 hours and was a hot item on EBay for Christmas.

Sony Playstation 3 has many handy features to fill the wishes and needs or any hard core gamer. One of the new innovations were built in hard disk. This took the console to a whole new level with no need for memory card and a computer-like functionality. Sony also added Ethernet connections, USB ports and in some models with Bluetooth capabilities. These entire features combine to make a video game console that many agree, is not only great in the beginning, but also has potential, which has not been tapped. Even opponents who complain or lack of persuasive games titles will agree, the PlayStation 3 has enormous potential.

I think personally, as a parent, one of the biggest aspects of the PlayStation 3 is the player's ability to download and play games demos. Used to be you could buy a disc with several demos of it, but then you were stuck with a useless disk and out more dollars in the process, with the new function when you have played the demo and decided to buy the games you can then delete it and not be a red cent.

PlayStation 3 comes in a variety of hard drive sizes, each with its advantages and disadvantages, let us look at the different sizes and their functionality:

-20 GB-this was one of the originally released sizes, it is no longer available retail. 20 Has 4 USB ports, and backwards compatibility with Playstation 2. The device is no longer in production.
-40 gigabytes-this unit came in a broader range of color; piano black, Ceramic white, gun metal grey and satin silver. In this model, trimmed the USB ports to 2 but added wifi and lost compatibility with PS2.
-60 GB-probably the cream of the crop as this unit had it all. 4 USB, WiFi, flash card readers, SACD for superior sound and PS2 compatibility. As with 20, this device is also no longer in production. If you can find one you will probably pay a big price for it, but probably, if you're a Playstation fanatic and own many of PS2 games this unit for you.
-80 GB-there is some confusion on this model as the early release had all the same capabilities or the 60 but later editions are scaled back. If you find an 80 gig with 4 USB ports, it will have all the great features of the above 60. On the other hand, if it has only 2 USB ports, you lose the WiFi, SADC and backward compatibility.
-160 GB-this is the latest installation of the family the PlayStation 3 and is expected to release around the holidays this year. It will have 2 USB and Wifi capability to go with the sample size hard disk; one can only assume that there is some serious upgrades come to justify the production of this console.

PlayStation fans will not be disappointed with this console. In addition to the Internet will be blu-ray and internal hard disk players unhooked with the wireless controller capability, which is standard on all models.
