Nothing is more irritating then get the urge to kick some serious butt on the region of the greater Toronto or Soul Calibur (or other PS games) and discover that the game does not work for some reason any ridicule. I have heard many suggestions to correct this problem, and I'll tell you now that most of them does not work. Hitting the Playstation is one of these "work" options.
While should you do? Follow these steps and you should be operational in a short time (unless the problem is a little more serious, but even then, there are solutions).
Fixing scratched Playstation CDs - is the problem a scratch?
Start with the basic and most simple issues. Sometimes us try fixing scratched CDs of Playstation and do not realize that the problem is perhaps not a scratch. Something as simple that dust, oil or accumulated "stuff" is the only thing that you stop playing your game. Run the hot water on the drive to eliminate dust (that get most of it).
Sometimes, the dust and the "stuff" is tightened on y pretty good and the hot water does get rid of it on his own. Gently rub the CD with your finger while you run the above water. It is important to recall here that do not rub your Playstation CD in a circular motion! Start from the border and rub directly towards the Interior of the Centre and then repeated. If your finger is not doing the trick, use a mild liquid soap or rubbing alcohol.
Do not dry the Playstation CD when you are finished! Let air dry.
Fixing scratched Playstation CDs - Yes, the problem is a scratch
Before we talk about polishing, it is important that you look at your Playstation CD and see on which side the scratch is on. Sometimes the side of the cover (top) is scratched and therefore just optics sees right in the disk without read; If this is the case color just in the scratch (top) with a black marker and that usually works.
A few scratches are easier to resolve than others. Shallow scratches can be fixed very easily by polishing down the surrounding plastic coating to make the scratch even more shallow (or non-existent). Of course, the problem here is that if you do that enough times you will have nothing left of your Playstation CD. Deeper rifling are more difficult to resolve, but always in action.
If you decided to Polish your Playstation CD a little to get it goes then all you need is a little bit of toothpaste (preferably with baking soda) or Brasso. Get a soft cloth and lint-free (a few t-shirts are good) or one of these glasses cleaning cloths (wearing pays off sometimes). Apply hot water to the surface of your Playstation CD and a small amount of toothpaste or Brasso. Yet again, do not rub in a circular motion! Rub from the inside to the outside edge (or vice versa) and try to stick to the area that is striped. "If it ain't broken, not correct". To do this at least 10 to 15 times as gently as possible. It should not be much pressure scratch Playstation CDs and you should feel the scraping cloth immediately. You may need to reapply a little toothpaste on your cloth from time to time (but not much!).
If you have used Brasso you use soft clean cloth to wipe off the excess and let it air dry. Once dried should wipe the down once more. If you have used toothpaste, then you should run disk under warm water and let the drive air to dry completely before playing.
