The best Console Games: Wii, Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3?

Game consoles are more popular than ever these days. They have come a long way since the days of the Sega Mega Drive; modern and 7th generation consoles amazing graphics, large controllers and offer many games awesome choice. Most popular in the world of video game consoles are now Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony's PlayStation 3 and Nintendo's Wii. Who is the best of the three?

In short, the answer is: they are all good. But this is not what you should remain, is it? Thus, look for the Wii. This game console was released in 2006 and in December 31, 2010 sold 84.64 million units worldwide. In other words, he is the leader in terms of sales when comparing the Xbox 360 vs PS3 vs Wii. It is largely thanks to its innovative motion controller which allows players to interact with the game using not only buttons, but gestures as well.

Wii is probably the most unique three consoles examined here: its graphical capabilities are certainly the weakest, but the control system is the most innovative and the target audience is also quite different. While the Xbox 360 and PS3 will cater to the hardcore gamer crowd, Wii draws in casual players and people who never played video games before. They offer many easy, fun and family-friendly games. If you are a casual gamer, this console may be just the thing you are looking for.

Second, we have the Xbox 360 from Microsoft. It is the second console in terms of sales (50 million units worldwide as of January 5, 2011), which is just a little ahead of the PS3. The Wii, it supports the HD-quality video output and was powerful enough CPU and graphics system (although perhaps not as powerful than the PS3). Xbox 360 has several very popular games that are exclusive to the platform, like the Halo series. One of the stronger sides of the Xbox 360 is multiplayer online and other services offered through the Xbox Live network. In my opinion, Xbox Live is the best community of console online, beating definitely PlayStation PSN. If you are in online games, I think that the Xbox 360 is an excellent choice.

When it comes to Xbox 360, Kinect should be mentioned as well. It is an add - on for the console which was released in 2009. Kinect allows players to play with gestures and voice commands, without using any controller at all. You could call it Microsoft response to the PlayStation move system Wii MotionPlus.

Finally, we have the Sony's PlayStation 3 console. With 47.9 million units sold worldwide, it is just behind Xbox 360 in terms of popularity. PS3 is probably graphics more powerful and system CPU, although not all multiplatform games can make full use; as such, PlayStation 3 graphics are usually on an equal footing with those of the Xbox 360. It is also the only seventh generation console that has a Blu - ray drive, which adds even more to the technological superiority of the PlayStation 3. If you want Blu - ray and PS3 exclusive games like LittleBigPlanet, this console is for you.

The supply of game console online via the PlayStation Network (PSN), even if it probably loses to Xbox Live in some respects. It has also two modules based on the motion: PlayStation Eye (camera digital, similar to Kinect) and PlayStation Move (movement controller, similar to the Wiimote).

I hope that this article has been useful in helping you make the choice of what console to buy. If you need even more information, visit the Wikipedia for a more detailed comparison of the Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
