The New PlayStation Move Gun and Move Navigation Controller

The Launch of 2 new controller systems for the PS3 slim console has got players and fans asking if they are completely necessary to play the games. The PlayStation Move controller system uses a special motion controller alongside a camera to pick up a gameplayer's movements. These movement and actions are used in the gameplay and make you more fundamentally involved in any move game you play. There are also 2 special Move accessories for certain games that add even more to the experience in the games. The first one in the PlayStation Move Gun. The Second is the PlayStation Move Navigation Controller.

Shoot them up games and the PlayStation Move Gun

The Move Gun is designed to add more realism to games where you have to aim and shoot a gun. The main feature is the laser light that shines on your target. It adds a lot of accuracy to first person shooter games that was always a bit hit and miss with the old PlayStation 3. You know that feeling when you "know" you hit the target but it didn't register on the console. This frustration is pretty much removed once you master the use of the Move Gun.

The only problem is that I can't see a use for this gun outside the shooter style games. Perhaps Sony have some more ideas and games on the way. For the moment this will only be a requirement for you if you already play lots of shoot-out games. Otherwise you will have no use for it.

The PlayStation Move Navigation Controller

The Move Navigation Controller is much more adaptable and will be used in a greater number of games. It comes as part of the Move Starter Bundle anyway which is the purchase route most people will take during this launch period anyway. The navigator is really an advanced controller that helps you get into the games much quicker and easier than the old style controller. There is a stick along with north, south,east and west buttons. The familiar "X" and "O" buttons are supplemented with 3 "L" buttons which allow for advanced gameplay functions.

Are These Move Controllers Really Needed?

You do not need to have this Move Navigation Controller to use the Move system. It does make things easier. The design and ergonomics are good and you quickly accustom yourself to it. In fact neither of the new controllers are a must have but they both add a great deal to the fun and skill in the games.
