Playstation Move - Motion Control For the Playstation 3

Sony is jumping into the motion control genre with the introduction of Playstation Move. This is a new controller for the Playstation 3 that allows the user to control actions on screen with physical movements. The Wii started off the motion control craze, now Sony is capitalizing and improving on the idea. The device is comprised of two separate controllers, or wands as Sony calls them, that interact with each other to relay movements to the characters on screen. Both wands have a light-up bulb on the end, one slightly smaller than the other. Both controllers also have the standard Playstation buttons on them. There are two buttons that are unique to the Move controllers, one on the front of the controller and a trigger on the back. The other mandatory component is the Playstation Eye peripheral which will pick up the body motions and convey them back to the console.

The most important question is how it will be integrated into the games. You can expect launch games that contain multiple mini or party games, much like Nintendo did with Wii Sports. A fighting game was demo'd at E3 this year that showed the wands reflected on screen as your hands punching away. Sony also demo'd a first-person shooter, SOCOM 4, which showed the wands being used as a gun on screen. Popular upcoming game sequels such as Kill Zone 3 and Little Big Planet 2 have been confirmed to have Move features integrated into the game as well.

With all the hype behind Playstation Move, everyone wants to know when it will be released and how much will it cost. Sony answered that question this year at E3. It will hit retail stores in the United States on September 19th, with international dates varying around the same date. Sony will be offering a bundle package with both controllers and the Playstation Eye for $99.99. The bundle will also include the mini-game centric Sports Champion game. If you already have the Eye device, the controllers will be offered separately.

While you're waiting for the Playstation Move to be released you can get a free Playstation 3 system for being a tester. Sony still needs people to test their consoles and they are willing to send them out for free. Click Here [http://freegamingsystems.info] to sign up to get your Playstation 3 for absolutely free.
