The New PlayStation 3 Consoles Are Slim Line Models

  The weight of the Slim model is a substantial thing to see with this PlayStation 3 console. Original PS3 consoles were approximately eleven pounds in weight. The Slim model, on the other hand, is a little less than eight pounds in weight. A major reason for this comes from how the dimensions of the PS3 Slim model are smaller than what was used for the original model.

The width and height of the Slim model is different from what was featured in older PlayStation 3 consoles. The Slim model works with a size of 11.42 inches in width and 2.56 inches in height. This is smaller than the 12.81 inch width and 3.86 inch height that the original PlayStation 3 console featured.

It should be noted that the Slim model is thicker than the other models that PS3 consoles are available in. While the original PS3 was 10.79 inches deep the Slim model is 11.42 inches deep. This is a relatively small increase though and is easily offset through the smaller weight, width and height of the Slim model.

The main power switch on the PS3 Slim has also changed. Older PS3 consoles featured this switch at the back end of the console. The Slim line does not feature a switch like this anymore. The console can be powered on without a switch on its body.

Another thing about Slim line models is that they are quieter and cooler than older PS3 consoles. This works in that the cells that are used for the inside of the console are smaller than what was used in the original model. Thanks to this it is easier for a player to be able to enjoy games without having to deal with bothersome console sounds or overheating.

It helps to know that only two types of PS3 Slim consoles are available. These are the 120GB and 250GB models. Both of these cost more than older models but they can handle more disk space.
