Sony Ericsson Z1 PlayStation Phone, IS REAL!!!

The hype surrounding the reality of a PlayStation phone is coming to a head with the leak of some pictures, and a clear 3 minute video that appeared on the internet, on Dec. 4th 2010, and it clearly shows that the phone is a reality.

It is going to be called the Sony Ericsson Zeus or Sony Z1, and it looks like it going to be a best seller for sure.

The Sony Zeus or Sony Z1 has real PlayStation controls and the top half of the Phone slides off to reveal the controls.

It wont be a true PlayStation Phone which is probably the reason they decided to brand it as the Sony Erisson Zeus or the Sony Z1 rather than using the PlayStation brand.

The PlayStation phone has not even been confirmed as a reality by Sony Ericsson as yet, but it is rumored to be announced by Sony on 9th December, with the phone being available in February 2011.

It is built on the gingerbread Android platform and is expected to have a 1 GHZ processor.

The handset looks like it was a working prototype and is running on the Android Gingerbread. And the PlayStation symbols were clearly displayed on the buttons.

The Games are expected to be built especially for the Sony Zeus Phone and will be available for $10-$20 but no price is confirmed as yet.

The price of the New Sony Zeus or Sony Z1 is expected to be in the $500 range and supposedly includes 5 games in that pricing, again its too early to confirm the actual pricing.

It has a 5 mega pixel camera with an LED flash, initial reports are, it not the best camera in the world, but then again who really cares as the Sony Zeus is mainly for gaming.

The Sony Z1 looks quite chunky but when you consider that its a phone game console etc you can understand why with the amount of stuff packed inside.

Sony Ericsson's PlayStation Phone Is Going To Use The Z-System

Sony Ericsson has been tight-lipped about a new PlayStation phone. There has been some leaked information on various websites showing pictures of this new phone. Information is slowly getting leaked out and a recent picture shows a shot of the gaming platform.

In a recent screenshot of Sony's PlayStation phone there is solid evidence to believe that the new gaming platform will be called "Z-System". Sony has bought the domain z-system.com which gives further evidence to the name of the gaming platform. Sony holds trademarks for the Z-System in the US and Benelux trademark offices.

The trademarks were approved this year and the filing category that it was filed under was related to software for playing with video games. This suggests that the gaming platform used on the PlayStation phone will be called the Z-System.

Nothing is set in stone and it is all still speculation on what the actual names of the gaming software or hardware will be called. The PlayStation Portable was called the PSP and it looks like it probably won't stick with that name for the phone.

Initial guesses will suggest that it will stick with the usual PS characters at the front. Similar to the PS3 and PSP. Considering that it is a mobile, this phone could be called the PSM which stands for PlayStation Mobile or PSPM which stands for PlayStation Portable Mobile. Until more information gets leaked, it will be hard to know for sure what this gaming device will be called.

PSZ could be another name that could be used. PSM, PSPM and PSZ are all worthy contenders for the name of this new device. PlayStation Z has a bit of a ring to it and might be what Sony uses as the name of this very cool video gaming device.

Everything is under tight wraps and Sony staff are good are keeping secrets.

The leaked screenshot of the gaming platform shows a picture of a menu screen. In the screenshot one can easily see a software version number of v.0.91.0. There is a FPS or frames per second of 25 shown next to the version number. The date and battery life are also shown. Menu titles shown are: Software debug, Hardware debug, Settings, Launcher, Market and Downloader.

Two button prompts are also shown. They say (A) Enter and (B) Back. It is quite strange that the system is prompting for A and B button presses because Sony uses shapes for the buttons. The famous shapes used are: triangle, circle, cross and square.

In conclusion, Sony has a new cool phone in its lineup and we should see it in stores early next year.
