For the war game enthusiast, cost can become an issue. With new systems costing hundreds of dollars (not even including extra controllers, accessories, and on-line services) and new titles costing between 50 and 70 dollars a game, the steadfastness of PS2 war games is a monetary lifesaver. No, the newest thing won't always be released on the system (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, for example) or may have a future release date as companies try to push their most current video game systems, but the plethora of combat titles available is enough to satisfy even the most consumptive of gamers.
The PlayStation 2 has done what many systems fail to do as more advanced models are born: stand its ground. The system is as popular as ever, due to a loyal fan base, dependable construction, and a variety of titles, with PS2 war games being some of the most popular and prevalent.
