Playstation 3 - The Complete Entertainer

We, as adults have to face the fact that our kids seem more comfortable with a Playstation 3 gaming console than they seem outdoors playing baseball, like we used to in our day and age. Exercise just isn't a top priority for kids anymore, unless of course, you are lucky enough to have a child who is naturally athletic. Nowadays its gaming consoles all the way.

Why the Craze?

And Playstation 3 is probably the most popular gaming console around! Why it is so popular is because it has a really great format - it supports what is known as Blu ray. This is, I have learnt, an advanced disc drive which fits right into your Playstation and is compatible with it. It is a phenomenon in the gaming world because a Blue Ray drive is able to play data about five times faster than your average DVD drive!

So we all know what that means - game developers can develop far more sophisticated games which are more realistic and complete with a great degree of detail. What is more, the Play Station 3 was the pioneer gaming console with a Blue ray drive. Another great thing about this disk drive is that it is extremely versatile - that is, it can read almost any form of media.

So if you're thinking all the games you purchased for your other gaming consoles are redundant once you have a Playstation 3, then think again! In fact, you can even use your Playstation 3 to watch movies or even listen to music because of the amazing features that the Blu ray drive offers! It's an all in one entertainment system if you ask me!

Money Matters

Playstation 3, because of its amazing features is not a gaming console which comes for cheap. In fact, it is pretty expensive and most middle class parents would think twice before buying it for their kids. But there are two versions of this incredible gaming console so you can take your pick. There is the basic configuration which comes for about five hundred dollars and the other one is the premium configuration which comes for about six hundred dollars.

So you can still get a Playstation 3 for about five hundred dollars. There is not too much of a difference between the two. The premium has all the features of the basic model, as well as a built in Wifi- capability, a larger, upgradeable hard drive of 60GB and flash card readers.

Plus, the investment is really worth it because you will get a lot more things than just the gaming console when you do choose to purchase it. You will have a wireless Bluetooth controller so you can play your games while you're anywhere in the room and you will also get a free game as well. If you choose to buy your Playstation 3 online, you will be delighted to find that a number of dealers are offering a load of attractive freebies with the Playstation3, so when are you getting one?

How to Find PlayStation 3 Game Cheats

If you are a proud owner of a game console called PlayStation 3 then you also have a few dozen games. You may also like to win your games but some of them are a bit harder to win then the others.

Or you wish to hold the secret weapons, get to higher levels much faster or other perks like that. This means you need cheats.

You need to find some PlayStation 3 cheats and use them. You may not know but there are some places where you can find these cheats.

Search Online

On the net is probably the best place to look for video game cheats. There are many websites that provide them, especially for the PlayStation consoles.

Once you have encountered a couple of these sites, look for the specific cheats that you want and see how they work.

But you should know that not all the cheats in PlayStation 3 games are just like that, on public displays on the websites. For some of them, you may even be asked to pay. Or, you need to do a lot of digging in order to find them for free.

Still, if you find some cheats at one price, there is a chance to get them even cheaper than that if you look much further. The guys that sell these things know that a PlayStation console costs a lot and so do the games.

They do not expect you to pay hundreds of dollars for a cheat. So you may be asked to pay a few couple of dollars, around twenty or thirty, depending on the cheat.

Search in Magazines

Besides websites, you can also look for cheats in the gaming magazines. For example, if you are a subscriber to a PlayStation 3 magazine, they can let you know if they have cheats or not.

But usually these published cheats are not that great, since everybody has access to them. They most probably are able to give you an extra weapon or a new level but nothing extraordinary.

For the amazing and cool PlayStation 3 video game cheats, got to be prepared to pay for those.

The cool cheats will offer you hours after hours of playing and add a lot of excitement into your game. You must also be aware of that fact that this will happen if you use them correctly.

The internal memory is 512 MB and this is divided between the graphics engine and the system equally. The new version of PS3 is slim and has an internal hard drive of 120 GB. Hundreds of games were released for Playstation 2 during the console's lifetime. There are so many, that it can be hard to choose which you want to buy for your collection. Below is a list of the ten must own games for the PS2 and why they should be in your collection.

10. Final Fantasy X - The first Final Fantasy game on Playstation 2 successfully evolves the best selling RPG franchise. FFX has a very deep battle system with even more complex stat upgrades. Your characters can literally take on hundreds of combinations of skills and abilities.

9. Guitar Hero - Live your rock and roll dreams in Guitar Hero. Use a real guitar controller to play all your favorite rock ballads and guitar solos. Hours of songs to play, multiple difficulty levels for even master players, and a song list with tons of classics. This game is great for casual players because it is so easy to pick up, but will keep you coming back with the steady increase in difficulty.

8. Katamari Damacy - A very strange premise, but very fun game. Roll a ball around a level. Smaller objects get stuck to the ball making it bigger, then you can roll over bigger objects. You have to grow your ball to a certain size to clear every level. Tons of replayability, random and funny cut-scenes, and solid game play make this a very unique but great game for the Playstation 2.

7. Ico - The game didn't sell very well, but has great story, good puzzle design, and environments that make you forget you are playing a game sometimes. You play as a boy who is destined to be sacrificed to appease the Gods. He must make his way through the world and solve puzzles or face his grim fate.

6. Kingdom Hearts - Square Enix combines the Final Fantasy and Disney characters into one role playing adventure. You play as Sora but fight along side Donald and Goofy and meet Ariel, Aladdin, and other great Disney characters along the way. Kingdom Hearts is great for RPG fans and fun for Disney fans too. You will love all the cameos from the Disney movies and cartoons.

5. Metal Gear Solid 2 - The sequel to Metal Gear Solid for the original Playstation. Play as Solid Snake as tries to stop a resistance group from gaining control of a high-tech weapon. 4. Grand Theft Auto III - The smash hit that went on to create it's own genre. In GTA 3, you can do almost anything you want. Want to follow the story, go ahead. Just want to steal cars and get into police chases, you can do that too. It led to multiple sequels and countless copycat games and helped spark the massive success of the Playstation 2 during its first year.

3. Resident Evil 4 - Originally released as a Gamecube game, Resident Evil 4 for Playstation 2 has all the same features plus more levels. Its an action packed, heart pounding horror game as Leon tries to save the President's daughter. With a 95% review score from gamerankings.com it is the best reviewed PS2 game of all time.

2. Gran Turismo 3 - Hands down the best racing simulator. Gran Turismo 3 is a realistic racing game with real cars, real tracks, and real life attributes for all of them. Racing a VW Bug will feel different than racing a Corvette. Different accelleration, speed, and handling for each car and track. And I didn't even mention the impressive graphics yet. If you love cars, this is the best racing game you can get.

1. God of War - Great graphics, epic story, nearly perfect controls. This is the best game on Playstation 2 and one of the better games released the past generation. Play as Kratos as he makes his way through ancient Greece fighting mythological creatures and using his fallen foes powers to vanquish future enemies. A best seller, highly reviewed, and all around great game.

PlayStation Vs Xbox - The Gamer Debate!

There are several points to take into account when comparing both systems. You can't solve the PlayStation vs Xbox debate simply based on the graphics or value of each console. In this article, I will be comparing both systems with facts while keeping a completely unbiased approach.

Price
The PlayStation 3 is currently about 100$ more expensive than the Xbox 360. The 80GB version is sold for 399$ and the 160GB for 499$ while the Xbox's 60GB version is sold for 299$ and 399$ for the 120GB's one. 100$ is quite a big difference but you will see that it's not that bad after reading the other points.

Durability
Luckily, the Xbox 360 is pretty cheap because it has an extremely high failure rate. Some say it's around 16% but retailers are reporting much higher numbers going up to 33%. The most famous problem is the always annoying Red Ring of Death (RROD). There is literally thousands of programs being sold on the internet that are supposed to teach you how to fix it yourself but it remains a very serious issue. The PS3, on the other hand, has an amazingly low defect rate which is reported to be around 0.2%.

Features
This is probably the only point that can't be argued. The PlayStation has built-in Wi-Fi, Blu-Ray and Bluetooth makes it very customizable with third party devices, the 360 has none of these. You can get the 60GB version and just install a 300GB laptop drive on your PS3 if you need the extra space. You can store and stream media, the Xbox can do the same, except the storing part.

Graphics
Apparently, the PS3 has better graphics but it's not always the case. The Xbox 360's GPU is actually more powerful than the Cell processor of the PlayStation. However, this processor is very special and can create outstanding results when used correctly. When comparing the same title on both systems, the Xbox usually has the edge but with exclusive titles, created to make the best out of the Cell processor, the PS3 can be very impressive.

Games
This used to be the Xbox's strongest advantage. Since it came out before the PS3, it obviously had a wider choice of game but things changed. In 2008 alone, the quality of the new titles was pretty even for both consoles and I'd say that in 2009, so far, the PlayStation is leading with games like Killzone 2 and inFamous coming out soon. The 360 still has very good exclusives such as the Halo and Gears of War series.

Online Gaming
This is where I would give the Xbox extra points. Xbox Live subscription fee is about 50$ a year while PlayStation Networkis free but, unfortunately, you get what you pay for. XBL has many advantages and is a lot more popular than its counterpart. One thing that makes XBL stands out is the gamerscore, it's human nature to always want to be the best, accumulating points through in game achievements is a really good idea that Microsoft came up with.

Overall, I think that both consoles can be very entertaining, the failure rate of the 360 is a big problem but it's still cheaper than the PlayStation 3 and you could be lucky and never have any problem. The PS3 is very reliable and technically impressive but your online gaming experience might feel incomplete. The two systems are so good that my advice would be to choose your games first. Find a few games that you really think that you would enjoy and just get the console that comes with it!

Does The Playstation 3 Have Overheating Problems?

For Sony things weren't looking so great going back to the Tokyo Games Show in September 2006. Sony was unveiling their eagerly anticipated new PlayStation 3 games system, and the demo units were spluttering and dying left and right. This was essentially bad news considering the recent recall of Sony's lithium ion batteries.

The problem was simply that the Playstation 3 console was overheating. A representative from an equities company was the first to report it and soon after, everybody in gaming industry was talking about the new PS3' overheating problem.

Actually, there were several reasons why the consoles were taking to overheating, that did not really have anything to do with the design of the machines themselves. To start with, the Tokyo Game Show was extremely hot. Anyone that's visited Japan in September will know that it's a brutal time of the year, and the venue was lacking air-conditioning. There were 200 PlayStation 3 all in action close to one another, which is probably poor planning on the part of the organizers. To make things worse, all the consoles were sealed in cases to prevent anybody from peeking into the machine. This means that unfortunately there was no way that the exhaust fans, which were reportedly operating just fine, could get rid of all that heat.

It seems obvious that with 200 consoles in sealed cases in sweltering conditions that they would overheat. Still, it looked very bad. Representatives from Sony were all over the place during October stating that there weren't any overheating issues and many gamers were sceptical.

To make things worse for Sony was the recent recall of the lithium ion batteries, which are mostly used within there Vaio Laptops. The batteries were overheating and bursting into flames! This resulted in a massive recall of nearly seven million batteries being returned, and this was a massive financial blow to Sony. Critics commented that Sony was actually aware of this problem but didn't act quickly enough, and if they had, the recall may have been avoided. Taking all this into account, it did effect Sony's reputation pretty badly, combined with the overheating demos at the Tokyo Game Show looked much worse. With batteries exploding and the new PlayStation console choking away, many investors decided to pull out. At that time, Sony's share price dropped 2.75%

Now, since the release of the PlayStation 3 console late last year, how many machines have been over heating? The good news seems to be that nobody has reported their machines over heating. It may have been just a fluke. In view of the variety of reasons why the consoles were getting over heated at the Tokyo Game Show, none of which seems to be down to the machines themselves, and all lack of consumer confidence and bad press blew it way out of proportion.

It has been experienced by many gamers that after prolonged gaming, sometimes 48 hours straight (more or less), playing various games on the PlayStation 3, there was no trouble to report. The fans continued to run quietly, there was warm air coming out of the back, it got hot as all consoles do, but not too hot, and no overheating trouble was noticed. The only problems were bleary eyes, backs and thumbs, and delirium due to a complete lack of sleep and video game overdose.

Finally, if you don't believe the lack of PlayStation 3 overheating problems, check out the gaming forums, you won't hear anything about PS3 on these issues.

Sony Playstation 3 - Pushing Limits of the Virtual World

It has been more than twelve years since the Japanese consumer electronics giant Sony has entered the gaming space. Since their first gaming console offering, Sony PlayStation has been successful in craving out a special name in the game player's niche. Till recently, PlayStation's legacy remained untouchable and its leadership barely challenged. However, with the launch of seventh generation gaming consoles from two other major player in the league, namely Microsoft and Nintendo, Sony PlayStation lost good grounds in terms of market share and brand loyalty.

Their latest seventh generation gaming console - the Sony PlayStation 3 seeks to win back lost grounds. The PlayStation 3 was first launched in Japan - the company's home ground on November 11, 2006, with the North American release coming a mere six days later on November 17, 2006. The system was then released in Europe and Australasia on March 23, 2007. Right from day one of its launch, the gaming console gained enormous popularity among all gamers around the world. According to Media Create, 81,639 PS3 systems were sold within 24 hours of its introduction in Japan. Initially, the Sony PlayStation 3 was available in two configurations - 20GB and 60 GB. However, the 20GB module was discontinued after a while due to lack of demands and was replaced by an even higher 80GB module.

The PlayStation 3 is based on open and publicly available application programming interfaces. The PlayStation 3 includes the ability to store different user profiles, explore down loaded photos, play music and movies from the hard drive, compatibility for a USB keyboard and mouse for additional aid in navigation through its user interface and computer like game play, and a full fledged web browser. These features and options gives a Sony PlayStation 3 user the freedom to diversify the usage of the gaming console apart from its primary function - to play high quality video games.

Video Game Consoles [http://www.mobilespectrum.co.uk/game-consoles.asp]

PlayStation 2 - Power Personified

The PlayStation 2 is the predecessor of the PlayStation (1) and the successor of PlayStation 3. Sony announced the development of the PS2 in March 1999 and finally launched it in Japan in 2000. The PS2 has to its name the honor of being the highest selling console till date and became the fastest selling video game console selling over hundred million units within five years and nine months from the date of its launch, a feat that took original PlayStation more than nine years to perform.

The PS2 has undergone a number of revisions, while most of which involved minor internal changes there were others that involved extensive external changes. The most obvious variation was of course the changes in the design and size of the PS2 casing. In 2004, Sony introduced the "slimline" version of the PS2. Then again in 2007, Sony took off a few more inches and a few more pounds from the "slimline" and introduced the anorexic version of the already slim PS2.

In addition to all PlayStation2 software, the PS2 being backward compatible can read the games that were designed for PlayStation (1). What this meant for the average consumer was that his library of PlayStation games didn't become obsolete with the release of the PS2, but he could now play his PS1 games on a more advanced console enjoy the improved graphical and sound effects - something which the PS1 couldn't provide.

The PS2 can also read both CDs and DVDs. This means that video game console doubles up as a DVD player. The ability to play movies on the PS2 acted as additional incentive for the consumers for purchasing the PS2, which at US$ 300 was the most expensive console in the market.

Even though Sony introduced radical changes in the design and upgraded the technology of the console, it refrained from making any visible changes to PS2's original controller. DualShock2 is cosmetically similar to PlayStation's DualShock, something which was really appreciated by the by the gamers as it meant that appreciated by the gamers because it meant that wouldn't have had to reorient themselves to a new controller. However, this is where the similarities stopped. The DualShock2 is feels lighter and actually has two additional levels of the force feedback commonly known as the vibration function.

This gaming console even features IEEE 1394 and USB extension ports. Its compatibility with IEEE 194 and USB ports is reliant on the software supporting the mechanism. The Gran Turismo 4 is been planned to store print images on the USB printers and screenshots to the USB mass storage mechanism. A Playstation 2 HDD can even be installed in the extension bay on the rear side of the console.

It even has a huge collection of highly acclaimed video games such as Shadow of the Colossus, Champions: Return to Arms, Metal Gear Solid 3, The Sly Cooper Trilogy, Gran Turismo 4 and Grand Theft Auto Series. This console also features some scariest horror games such as Resident Evil, Project Zero, Forbidden Siren and Silent Hill. Music games are also available on this console which include Guitar based Hero Series, Dance Revolution and Sing Star.

Occurrence and Remedy of PlayStation 3 Beeps

If you are in a middle of a combat and suddenly your PlayStation 3 beeps and shuts down, then certainly you will feel upset and will have the desire to fix the beeping problem as soon as possible. It mostly happens because of overheating as PS3 overheating problem is a common and well known issue amongst the players. Most of the times it happens in the middle of a game when everything suddenly stops or freezes and the PlayStation gives 3 beeps and 3 times, it shuts down automatically. Usually, this does not prove to be a major problem as things seem to be working in the normal manner when you simply switch on your PS3 once again. However, if your system comes to a standstill and you are unable to switch it off by means of the normal approach, then you would press and hold the power button till the time your PlayStation 3 ultimately powers off.

The freezing or lockup problem that appears along with your PlayStation may be a cause of an overheating within the console. You may let it cool off for a short time before restarting it. Another reason that your PlayStation is doing so can be because of something concerning the HDD processing that may encounter an internal processing problem and it therefore has to shut itself down to avoid further harm of the PS3.

You don't need to worry in case your PS3 is still under warranty because in this situation you can straight away take it back to Sony for repair or replacement, whatever is suitable in your special case. This way you will not be asked for any extra amount to fix the beeping problem. On the other hand, if your game console is out of warranty then you should better not send it to Sony at this point because it will not only cost you more, but also take few weeks to finally continue with your game. At this point of time, the best way is to have your own repair guide to fix PlayStation beeping. The PlayStation 3 repair manual enables you to fix beeping problems on your own like many other people.

A good guide for the fix PlayStation beeping can keep you away from risk of more damage to your PS3, so go with it here PlayStation 3 beeps and fix problem yourself.

If you do a lot of movie watching with your PS3, the Sony PlayStation 3 Blu-ray DVD Remote is a nice luxury, but it's not a must-have accessory for the PS3.

Sony plans to continue its market dominance with the latest version of its successful console, the PlayStation 3. Sony s built the PlayStation 3 with a definite eye on the future. Sony designed the PlayStation 3 to be more than just a video game console. Thinking About Buying a PlayStation 3 Repair Guide? Then You Better Read This Before You Do!

Are you looking for a PlayStation 3 repair guide? If you are, chances are your console has the red/yellow light of death, the only faults that cannot be repaired with simply resetting the console.

Luckily though, there are some excellent step by step PlayStation 3 repair guides available for purchase on the Internet nowadays.

I'll run you through some tips that you might find useful when deciding whether to purchase a PlayStation 3 repair guide.

What Not To Expect

1. To Not Get Your Hands Dirty - Unfortunately you will have to do some serious D-I-Y with your console in order to fix it. The instructions in PlayStation 3 repair guides are extremely comprehensive however, so don't worry if you think they will be too complicated. All PlayStation 3 repair guides are designed to be followed by absolute beginners!

2. That You've Wasted Your Money If The Guide Doesn't Work - Every PlayStation 3 repair guide on the market will fix 99% of broken PS3's. And what if you're the 1%? Well don't worry if you are, every guide I have come across (which is many) has a 60 day money back guarantee, if it doesn't work, you get your money back!

Tools Needed

1. No extra PS3 console parts are needed after you've purchased a PlayStation 3 repair guide, with the exception of disc drive repair guides. Many people think that once they buy a guide, it will just tell them to buy 4 or 5 new console parts and actually be no help at all. That is not the case!

2. The main tool you will need is a soldering iron. The second and third main tools you will need is a normal sized screwdriver, as well as a tiny screwdriver. Hopefully the soldering iron hasn't put you off buying a PlayStation 3 repair guide, instructions for use are fully covered with step by step pictures and videos in most PS3 repair manuals.

Easy Fixes That Sometimes Work

1. Try doing a hard reset. This involves turning the PS3 on from standby, and keeping your finger pressed down on the power button until 3 short beeps are heard. Hopefully this will fix your console problems.

2. Removing the hard disk drive. Pull the cover down, undo the screws, slide the hard drive out, and then replace it the exact same way you removed it. You can also try turning it off at the back, leaving it for an hour, and then restarting it. Hopefully this will fix your console problems.

If the easy fixes above don't work, and you have decided to purchase a PlayStation 3 repair guide, then read this review.

PlayStation Network Cards

The PlayStation network card was created to meet a specific need but ended up with many more benefits. It was originally meant as an easy way to add online funds to the PlayStation store account without using a credit card. This was very convenient for teens who didn't have their own credit cards or whose parents were reluctant to enter their information online.

The idea was so popular that now you can get PlayStation network cards at a wide variety of retail outlets besides gaming stores that sell games and systems. You can also buy them through online retailers but that, of course, requires you to have a credit card or a PayPal account. In the United States and Canada they are so easy to find that you can usually pick one up no matter what store is on your errand list. They are sold by big box stores, gas stations, gaming stores, pharmacy chains, convenience stores and even the larger grocery chains!

PlayStation network cards are easy to redeem, too. Of course, you must join the PlayStation network, and unlike Xbox Live membership is free of charge and joining is quick and simple. One you log in, all you have to do it click the "redeem" button. You will then enter the 12 digit code on the card and the funds are immediately transferred to your online wallet! Although the card itself expires twelve months after purchase, you can keep the funds in your wallet for as long as you wish without danger of losing it.

In the past you would have to go to a gaming store or retail center to buy a game or add-on. Then you would have to find a place to store the discs and be sure that you had the license key in a safe place. Some people had entire shelves full of CD jewel cases! With the PlayStation network card, you can fill those shelves and drawers with other useful things!

It's easy to get the cards, which come in denominations of $10, $20 and $50 and even easier to use them. You can pick one up at the grocery store or the gas station or convenience store where you might stop to get gas and a cup of coffee. Best of all, you keep your personal financial information to yourself! You can now purchase these PSN cards in the UK, as they are getting increasingly popular for gamers in the UK and Europe. PlayStation Network Cards for the UK come in denominations of £20 and £50, The find the cheapest PSN cards around, look online.

Enter the World of Games Using a PlayStation 3 Card

All the purchased materials can be played or viewed on your PlayStation 3 or PSP.

Choose a reliable PlayStation 3 Card

There are a number of PlayStation 3 Card providers in the web space. Since you do not know them personally, therefore little bit of research is essential before you make payments. Also, the service provider should be quick. The generation of your card code and delivery via email should be quick. Ideally it should not take more than 24 hours. The chances of you getting a wrong card are close to nil because, the card codes are mathematically generated and a strong back hand support works to provide accurate service to the customers.

How does a PlayStation 3 Card works?

There is no mystery in the functioning of a PlayStation 3 Card. This is as simple as recharging your mobile phone. After you have made an online purchase, you will receive a unique activation code in your mail's inbox, in the same day. In case you face any trouble in activating the code, go through the manual carefully and get to know about the activation procedure, downloads, expiry and more.

You can make payment with several gateways. If not your credit card then use options like AlertPay and PayPal. These are completely secure modes of payments. The cards are available in various denominations. You can choose the one you want.

After you have purchased a PlayStation 3 Card, follow three simple steps to get started and enjoy an exciting PlayStation experience.

• Register and sign in to PlayStation Network on either of your machines that could be a PS3, a PSP or a PC using Media Go

• Visit PlayStation Store and click on the Redeems Codes icon that is at the top of the page

Sony Ericsson Z1 PlayStation Phone Is a Reality

Sony Ericsson Z1 PlayStation Phone, IS REAL!!!

The hype surrounding the reality of a PlayStation phone is coming to a head with the leak of some pictures, and a clear 3 minute video that appeared on the internet, on Dec. 4th 2010, and it clearly shows that the phone is a reality.

It is going to be called the Sony Ericsson Zeus or Sony Z1, and it looks like it going to be a best seller for sure.

The Sony Zeus or Sony Z1 has real PlayStation controls and the top half of the Phone slides off to reveal the controls.

It wont be a true PlayStation Phone which is probably the reason they decided to brand it as the Sony Erisson Zeus or the Sony Z1 rather than using the PlayStation brand.

The PlayStation phone has not even been confirmed as a reality by Sony Ericsson as yet, but it is rumored to be announced by Sony on 9th December, with the phone being available in February 2011.

It is built on the gingerbread Android platform and is expected to have a 1 GHZ processor.

The handset looks like it was a working prototype and is running on the Android Gingerbread. And the PlayStation symbols were clearly displayed on the buttons.

The Games are expected to be built especially for the Sony Zeus Phone and will be available for $10-$20 but no price is confirmed as yet.

The price of the New Sony Zeus or Sony Z1 is expected to be in the $500 range and supposedly includes 5 games in that pricing, again its too early to confirm the actual pricing.

It has a 5 mega pixel camera with an LED flash, initial reports are, it not the best camera in the world, but then again who really cares as the Sony Zeus is mainly for gaming.

The Sony Z1 looks quite chunky but when you consider that its a phone game console etc you can understand why with the amount of stuff packed inside.

Check out the video of the Sony Zeus PlayStation Phone and to stay up to date on the news of the launch date Click Here.

Revealing The PlayStation 3D TV - Powerful 3D Gaming Technology From Sony

Sony's ever popular games console may be about to step up even further in desirability with the recently announced arrival of the PlayStation 3D TV. Sony announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo during June 2011 that they will bring the model to market alongside their existing range of 3D TVs in an attempt to take the 3D games market by storm. Sony are planning to use breakthrough technology which allows two players to see individual different game images on screen by simply pressing a button, revolutionising the existing split screen method, and opening up new potential in the ways that competitive games are played.

The out of the blue announcement firmly places 3D gaming as the one source of 3D content that has true potential to place 3D TV at the centre of our home technology needs. Watching images in 3D naturally increases the feeling of immersion, which of course is one of the key attractions of gaming in general - to take you out of this world and into another where you're in control and slap bang in the middle of the action. With video games attempting to deliver a true 3D experience unsuccessfully for many years, and the Nintendo 3DS not quite delivering everything it promised, it very much looks as if it Sony will ensure that their new PlayStation 3D TV takes the pole position in the race for the best new 3D entertainment of 2011.

Sony have stated that the PlayStation 3D TV screen size will be 24 inches and come as part of a bundle that will include various essential accessories such as active shutter 3D glasses, HDMI connector cables to hook up the PS3 to the TV, and a 3D game which first indications suggest will be Resistance 3. The glasses operate on a rechargeable lithium ion battery that according to Sony needs a 45 minute charge to give up to 30 hours playing time, plus just a few minutes charge is expected to provide a few full hours use. With a planned Autumn 2011 release date there is plenty of time for elements of this bundle to change, and it'll be no surprise to see either different or extra games included.

For anyone who's been following the progress of 3D TV technology over the last year or so, the 24 inch display size might be surprising. On first impressions it does seem on the small side given much of the focus on 3D TV has been on building and selling bigger screen models to increase the immersive feeling that's a major part of watching 3D images. But Sony are aiming this innovation at gamers who are used to smaller screens, they might be playing in bedrooms and other small spaces where standard larger 3D TVs are way too big.

At roughly £320 or around $500 the price might just about be set at the right level, though extra pairs of Sony glasses cost between around $50 - $70 as well. Early reports indicate that the picture quality delivered by the 1080p, 24 inch, edge LED lit display is strong, and other specifications of the model include a 5000 to 1 contract ratio, 2 HDMI inputs, and a 176 degree viewing angle for players. This wide viewing angle looks to be a critical element of the TV, allowing players to sit next to each other exactly as they do now to enjoy multiplayer games and yet still get the full 3D effect.

Other features include a headset port, two HDMI ports, one component port, and two speakers. All combined with an ultra thin display. But the ability for players to see different 3D images while playing the same game is of course the jewel in the crown. The technology uses what's known as quad speed frame sequential display technology, and in simple terms it works by combining the glasses with the TV to send the separate 3D images to the different players.

Most major manufacturers, and Sony in particular of course, believe that 3D games will drive the adoption of 3D TVs even higher, and this looks to be the first real effort from a major games manufacturer to try and prove that point. For an experienced gamer the PlayStation 3D TV could become one of the all time must have gaming gadgets. And for those of us who don't class themselves as hardened gamers, then this new development might be the fuel that sets us on the road. There are already over 100 PS3 3D games in circulation and if the PlayStation 3D TV is successful it will be no surprise to see that number increase substantially.

At the expected price of around $500 this option may just encourage anyone who's been sitting on the fence about buying a 3D TV to jump in with both feet. And the potential for the future is outstanding. Imagine when 3D games get to be paired with motion-sensing controls or head tracking technology, we could be facing whole new ways of gaming. Players could manipulate 3D environments with a wave of their hand. Game play and even player level creation could become far more intuitive than ever before. Should the PlayStation 3D TV be as successful as seems likely, it could open up the doorway to even more new and innovative gaming experiences.

It all sounds good, doesn't it? But there are some drawbacks. The major one is that the dual player mode will only work with 3D games that have been specially created to take advantage of it. Clearly that means that all existing games will be incompatible from this perspective, though of course you'll be able to play them as a single player in 3D. Sony will reportedly have around 100 fully compatible games released by the end of the year.

So we'll need to wait and see what further developments take place. But if the idea of the PlayStation 3D TV doesn't grab your imagination there's an alternative way to hook up your PlayStation to a 3D TV with the recently released Sony combination 3D TV/PC. Known as the Vaio All In One, the combo comes with a 24 inch, 1080p HD LCD monitor, plus a built-in Blu-Ray player. Connectivity to a PS3 is via an HDMI port. At a price of around $1400, the All-In-One could be a better option for anyone who wants to combine 3D gaming with their other online activities.

Copy PlayStation Games to Save Time and Money

Most PS2 and PS3 owners have at some point wished they could back up their game collection, especially if they ever had to replace one of their games. It is crucial that you learn how to copy PlayStation games if you want to keep adding to your collection of games. There is software available just for copying video games. Why would you ever again spend money on replacing games when you can easily copy them with video game copying software? How can you copy PlayStation games?

Have you ever tried to make copies of video games from any of the major manufacturers: Xbox, Wii, or PlayStation? If you tried doing this, you found that your burning software that you use for music and videos just wouldn't work for burning console games. The reason this didn't work is because traditional burning software wasn't designed to get past the copy protection placed on your game. It is quite obvious that the game manufacturers do this to guarantee that they do not lose any profits since it's impossible for them to make money off of copied games. These manufacturers are in the business of selling games, making if necessary for them to prevent piracy. By doing this however, they make it difficult for those who legally bought the game to protect their investment. What these developers do not tell you, however, is that it's all right to make copies of games that you legally own.

This copy protection is obviously unfair. If game disks came with insurance for loss or damage, it would be a different story, but that's not the case. Since all of these games are stored on DVDs, they are quite fragile, making them prone to scratches and other types of damage. If you do not have a backup copy of your disk, you will have to go to your local retail store and purchase another copy of your game. Lucky for us, some software developers realized this problem and made a software application that gets past this copy protection to allow everyone to make copies of their PlayStation games. If you are looking for good video game copying software, use the one that is highly respected by most video gamers. This software is GameCopyWizard.

Using GameCopyWizard is very easy. Any game created with this software will be pristine and clear. All you need to do is follow the onscreen instructions. When you have finished creating your high quality game, it is best to use your backed up copy and store away your original copy for safekeeping. You can always make another copy if the backup gets lost or damaged.

GameCopyWizard can copy other things as well as PlayStation games. With this software, you can make copies of games from any console system, as well as PC games, music, and videos. The best news is the Game Copy Wizard's reasonable cost. This software can easily pay for itself, especially if you lose one of your PS3 games. You should give this software a try since you will not be disappointed. Knowing how to copy PlayStation games will let you rest easily at night knowing your gaming investment is protected.

Ever wanted to back up or make copies of your most favorite video games? Ever wanted to play copied game or protect your collection? Has it ever bothered you that you cannot copy your collection of games from various console systems such as the Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, or your Wii game console? Top 3 Reasons To Buy the PlayStation Move

Another motion-sensing control game console has been created, this time by the very renowned Sony. For years before this top-notch variant of PlayStation, there was PlayStation 1, 2, and 3 which were all fun and exciting until Nintendo came out with its amazing Wii. Like the Wii, PlayStation Move makes use of a hand held controller (pointing device) sans the wiring attached to the console. Accordingly, the controllers have a corresponding motion detector on the actual console that is the PlayStation Eye.

There are other motion-sensing game consoles out in the market apart from Sony's PlayStation Move like Nintendo Wii and the latest from Microsoft, the Xbox Kinect. Although Sony's and Nintendo's are more alike compared to Microsoft's game console (which does not use a controller at all), here are some good reasons why this is the better choice:

Easy to Use Controller

Sony retained some of the configuration in the new controller from the old ones like the buttons (triangle, square, an 'x' and a circle) although the whole design is new (microphone-like) with a huge orb at the end that glows in any kind of color like blue or red. Besides this, it is easier to hold than the controller of Wii with a nice curve to it that will fit your hand perfectly. The main button called the 'Move' that you can use is positioned well under your thumb which works well while you're playing. Like the Wii, there is another button underneath the controller and is also perfectly situated where you might need it.

Great Games

There are several games which you can play with that is perfect for every single member of your family. Dads can try playing their favorite sport Golf like Tiger Woods' PGA Tour or the very challenging Bowling with Brunswick Pro Bowling. Other sporting games include beach volleyball, Archery and Table Tennis among so many others in Sports Champions. Young children can play with the whole family with games such as Start the Party and Singstar. There are more aggressive fighting games as well from shooters such as The Fight, Socom 4 or Resident Evil Gold Edition and epic battles like Aragorn's Quest and Tron.

Accuracy and Accessories

Like any other Sony game consoles, you can get other controllers. Having two controllers (one per hand) will actually work better when you are playing especially for games where your avatar is actually holding two things like in Aragorn's Quest, a sword and a shield. They also made available a controller shaped like a real gun which will work best when you're playing shooter games like The Shoot and Time Crisis. These accessories are very accurate as well and will serve its purpose especially with more the active sports games.

All in all, this is a good choice over Nintendo Wii since the design of the controller is perfect and there are great games which you can buy exclusively under Sony. Apart from these reasons, you have to realize that there are few computer games which lets you work out at the same time so get a set now and start having loads of fun this Christmas.

The PlayStation Move is targeted as being one of this year's best gifts for the Christmas season. Find out more about the move and get other great gift ideas when you visit my favorite website at http://topchristmasgiftsthisyear.net/.

Sony offers PlayStation repair services and you can be assured that it does not have the nightmares that Xbox 360 owners experience when their consoles break down. Well, let's take a journey into the repair of your PlayStation.

Since Sony reserves the right to replace your system sent in for service with a like model, you can be assured that you will get the exact model that you paid for or at least with the features that your original had. PlayStation repair services require that you prepare your machine for shipping and they will send you a shipping box for that. Once it is packed and loaded by the UPS guys, both UPS and Sony will give you updates about where your machine is at it travels online. You will also receive email alerts to inform you when it arrives at the service facility. But this is as far as your updates will tell you. The last time I checked, PlayStation repair services do not tell you what is wrong with the system. That is kind of a downer if you are that PC tech guru who likes to know what happened to your console.

One excellent thing though about PlayStation repair services is that they will usually be through with the repair in about 24 hours upon receipt of your console. Now that is fast compared to your local repair guys, right? Once they are through with the repair, the shipping guys at UPS will alert you that they have received your package and it is on its way home. If I am to grade PlayStation repair services, I give them 9 out of 10. They are fast, reliable and boy do they get the job done in time to finish the next level.

PlayStation 3 (80GB)

PlayStation has long been my favorite gaming console and I am not budging even with the launch of the Xbox and the Wii. In this review, we shall take a look on why the PlayStation 3 (80GB) has once again outdone its predecessors (as well as competitors) and will have no problems holding on to its reign as one of the most popular game consoles in the market.

There are currently two versions of PlayStation 3 (80GB) in the market. One comes with Metal Gear Solid 4 (MGS) while the other just comes with the game console alone. There are several differences between these two packages and it will be useful to examine them a little further before making your purchase.

First of all, the one that comes with MGS is about $100-$200 bucks more expensive that the one without MGS. The one with the MGS use to have a larger hard drive and dual-shock controller (previously not found on the standalone), serving a good enough reason for consumers to spend the extra bucks on it. With the release of the new PlayStation 3 (80GB) that includes both those features, there is little that differentiates between the MGS and non- MGS pack.

The MGS pack is compatible with PS2 and PS1 games while the standalone unit is only backward compatible with PS1 games. The MGS pack has 4 USB ports and some memory card slots while the standalone unit only no memory card slots and only 2 USB slots.

Although this seems to be good enough of a reason to get the PlayStation 3 (80GB) with the MSG pack, there is one big difference that may influence you to get the standalone unit. The new standalone PlayStation 3 (80GB) runs on a smaller 65nm cell processor while the one with the MGS pack runs on a 90nm. With the smaller cell processor, the standalone unit runs much quieter and consumes much less power. Because of that is doesn't get overheated easily.

Depending on what you are looking for, both the standalone unit and the MGS pack have their own pros and cons. Both these packs comes with a built in Blu-Ray DVD player that is a big incentive for you to purchase any of these units. They are also both Wi-Fi ready.

Is the Playstation 4 on Its Way?

Behind the scenes the games console makers of the world are already working how to take our console experience to the next level. Nintendo are working on the Wii 2, Microsoft on the Xbox 720 and Sony on the Playstation 4. So is the Playstation 3 on its way out soon?

The new Sony console will seemingly be based around the same powerful Cell processor system used by the current generation of consoles, but will generate double the power. Sony have reportedly already approached developers over the new console and processing speed is not their only priority. Sony seem very aware that the Playstation 3 has been the priciest participant in the recent console wars and want to be closer to Nintendo and Microsoft the next time around.

Rumours are that Sony are also very aware of finding the balance between sufficient development time and not getting left behind. The success of the has undoubtedly been affected by the fact that the Xbox 360 beat it to the marketplace and Sony seem determined not to start off on the back foot again.

The rumour mill seems to be predicting the launch of the new Playstation in 2011, but there are some within the ranks that think the arrival on the Playstation 4 could be as soon as 2010. Looking at Sony's recent history of bringing on new innovations, 2010 would look to be a little optimistic though on their recent record.

Sony are confident that the Playstation 3 has much life in it yet though. They continue to work on innovations, mainly based around its online offering, around Playstation Home and Playstation Network which they see as a way of extending the life of the Playstation 3 as well as adding value for existing Playstation 3 [http://www.ps3-world.co.uk] users.

Steps to Buying a Playstation 2 Console

The PS2 was released in 2000 and has sold more than 110 million systems worldwide. Even with these millions of units sold, many people have never owned a PS2 and are looking to buy one now. Follow these five easy steps below to save you time and money when shopping for your Playstation 2 system.

1. Buy the Slim PS2 - The Playstation 2 comes in two major versions. The original, larger PS2 and the more compact PStwo. The original PS2 system worked well in most cases but was bulky and some systems would lose power in their lasers over time making certain games unplayable. The PStwo system is much more compact than the original plus has a built in Ethernet adaptor or online play. The laser problem has been fixed in the PStwo version so you won't have to worry about disc read errors after using the system for a while.

2. Spend Less than $90 - Slim Playstation 2's are still sold new in stores, but they cost $129.99. If you want to save some money you can find used and refurbished slim PStwo systems for under $90 and the old Playstation 2 is even cheaper (thought be sure to read the paragraph above to make sure you know the differences between the two).

3. Shop Online - Although you can find used PS2 systems in many local game shops, the prices are usually higher in retail locations than online. Almost every gaming website carries Playstation 2 consoles since it was the most popular system last generation. You won't have to look very hard for the system. Ebay can also be a good option if you want to buy games with your Playstation 2 at the same time. Sellers will sell you their entire collection and you can save even more money.

5. Buy Used - You can save up to $40 by buying your PS2 system used instead of new. If you buy used games too, that can be two or three extra games you can buy to go along with your system. Just be sure to read step 5 to make sure buying used doesn't hurt you.

5. Buy only Quality Guaranteed - Because of the problems mentioned earlier that the PS2 can have, be sure to only buy from a retailer that guarantees their systems. You don't want to receive the system and find it has a broken laser and not be able to get a replacement from the retailer. Most websites will state their product guarantees on every page of their website.

If you keep these steps in mind when buying a Playstation 2 console, you will be able to save quite a bit of money and start enjoying all the games available on the system in no time.

JJGames has been selling Playstation 2 games, consoles, and accessories since 2000. Low PS2 video game prices and a wide selection.

PlayStation 3 Specs

Many people have recently shown an interest in the PlayStation 3 Specs, especially given the release of the new slim-line model. In actual facts, the specs are almost identical to that of the previous version of the PlayStation 3, just put into a smaller unit. For a full list of the basic PlayStation 3 Specs, see the link at the end of the article.

Just from glancing over these PlayStation 3 Specs, we can see that the PlayStation 3 is an amazingly powerful console, and it's no wonder that it's become one of the most popular video game consoles of all time. The integration of Blu-Ray technology, in addition to Bluetooth, has really helped the system jump up a gear, and to allow gamers to increase their experiences.

By understanding these PlayStation 3 specs you'll be able to understand more about the the console in general, and will be able to get the best out of it. Also, if you ever encounter any technical problems or if anything ever goes wrong, you'll have a greater understanding of the system, can therefore stand a better chance solving any problems.

The great thing about the new Playstation having Blu-Ray technology built in, is that it now has a major advantage over the XBOX 360, which has no such technology. This means that the PS3 can play Blu-Ray movies, as well as being able to play Blu-Ray game disks, which can contain up to five times the level of content of a DVD disk.

PlayStation 4 Release Date - Catch The Latest News

There is a lot of speculation online regarding the PlayStation 4 release date. Many forums are springing up all over the place, and some of the talk states that the PlayStation 4 release date is May, 2012.

Apparently, the PlayStation 3 has not even reached its full potential yet, and so there is not much rush to release the PS4. Many of the games for 3 are slated to have updated versions released to be fully compatible with PS3.

Some people are forecasting that the PlayStation 4 release date would be 6 years after the release of PS3, going on past releases. In order to remain competitive in the gaming market, many console developers continue to release newer systems with games that are much more complicated, providing a challenge to gamers. Once the gamer has master all of the games with a specific console; however, they may be looking to purchase the next generation console.

This is where markets can make or break a console. If certain gamers run out of a genre of game that goes with a specific console, they may be getting their wallets out for the next console, but if it has not been released yet, then that company may be missing out on their market share of gamer funds.

If you are a big fan of PS3, then you may already have played all of the games that are available. You may be anxiously awaiting the PlayStation 4 release date. The best way to find out that date is to go right to the main company website and look for updates. Sites that are not directly associated with the company may have some general chatter, and you might notice that there are several Facebook pages dedicated to the PS4 release date too. This does not mean that anyone knows anything for certain, but it does not stop them from talking and getting people's attention.

For now, the PlayStation 4 release date is a bit of a mystery, but that will not stop avid gamers and fans of PlayStation from speculating on that date. Rest assured, from a marketing standpoint, it will probably be released close to a time when consumers are most ready to part with their hard earned dollars, such as the Christmas season. The new module will feature updated controls with different features, and better graphics designed to compete with consoles like the Xbox.

For avid gamers around the world, and current Sony PlayStation 3 lovers there is a definite buzz in the air surrounding the PlayStation 4 Release Date. Sony is a company with consistency, and if the past has proven anything to us it is that we can expect the PS4 to hit the markets some time around Christmas 2012.

Sony PlayStation Really Did It Big

Sony Play Station a 32-bit video game console was produced by Sony Computer Entertainment in December 1994 marking a revolution in the field of video games. It was the first of the series of console and hand-held game devices. The PlayStation didn't miss the chance to generate interest in the market with a lot of advertisement campaigns. The PlayStation logo was designed by Manabu Sakamoto, who also designed the logo for Sony's VAIO computer products. The PlayStation is considered as one of the longest production runs in the video game industry.

This electronic game console had to undergo a variety of variants including the gradual reduction in the number of external connectors on the unit. SCPH-900x series is the last revision to the original PlayStation with the same hardware

Early gamers used to experience skipping of full-motion video or dreaded physical "ticking" noises from the PlayStations. It was due to the poorly placed vents that caused overheating in the plastic moldings inside the console creating knock-on effects with the laser assembly. Later Sony came out with "Dual Shock", including a controller with 2 analog sticks and a built in force-feedback feature. Colored blue was another version of Sony Play station, followed by colored green. The PlayStation's capabilities were later expanded with the installation of a modchip, which allowed the playing of games from other regions.

Net Yaroze was introduced as another version of the PlayStation, which was much expensive. It was found to be lacking the features the full developer suite provided. The user found it difficult to officially make actual game discs as the amount of space was small. Sony launched the smallest version of its Play Station, PS one in 2000, which was about one-third smaller than the original PlayStation. Later it also released a small LCD screen and an adaptor that can be used in cars.

PlayStation Update: Brand New System Software and Features

Last October 18, 2011, Sony Computer Entertainment has released the latest system software for PlayStation 3: the PlayStation 3 system software version 3.37. This latest version of PS3 system software includes some new and revised items such as the latest security patches, settings, features, and others.

The 3.37 version of PS3 system software adds the (TV/Video Services) icon as a category to PlayStation 3's XMB (XrossMediaBar) menu. The icon will only be seen when you use services on your PS3. Besides, you will also notice that there will be a video streaming services option which appears under the (TV/Video Services) icon. In previous versions, the icon was placed under the (Video) icon. While some services are directly available, some other might require you to download and install specific application in order to be able to operate. You also need Internet connection for updating services and information of your peripheral system. The icons on this latest updated version of PS3 system software might be displayed differently; all depending on your country or region and the availability of services.

New update on this 3.37 version also includes the Auto-Upload Saved Data. This feature enables you to automatically store new and recently updated saved data for PS3 format software in online storage regularly. To access this feature, you need to have a PlayStation Network account and become the member of the PlayStation Plus.

Besides the new (TV/Video Services) and Auto-Upload Saved Data features, the PlayStation 3's latest version of system software also includes the improvement of the playback quality during the use of some PS3 format software, the display of the MPO (Multi-Picture format) files for 3D photos and multi-angle photos under the (Photo) and in the (Photo Gallery) icons, the addition of a feature for sharing the latest info from the PlayStation Store with your Friends, supported 3D playback of Blu-ray Java ("BD-J") content, supported DTS-HD audio output while playing Blu-ray 3D content, and regular automatic synchronization of trophy information with the server. Like the Auto-Upload Saved Data feature, the latter feature enlisted on the 3.37 version improvement is also exclusively provided for PlayStation Plus members.

You must download and install PS3 system software updates only from the official update data provided online or on disc media by Sony Computer Entertainment. You should also avoid any methods of installation or download which are not appropriate with the system documentation of the PlayStation official website. Any violation on the Sony PlayStation regulation might void the PS3 system warranty and result in you losing the warranty and repair services from Sony Computer Entertainment.
